1. What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser when you visit a website. It lets the site remember things between page loads — your basket, your login, your language preference. Some cookies disappear when you close the browser; others stay for a defined period.
2. The cookies we use
This site relies on Shopify's built-in cookies for essential checkout functionality. These include a session identifier, a shopping basket reference, and a small set of security cookies that protect against checkout fraud. Without them, you cannot complete a booking. They are essential under the ePrivacy Directive and do not require your prior consent.
We do not run any analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party tracking pixels on the public website. We have deliberately chosen to do without them.
3. Cloudflare request logging
When your browser fetches live availability for a property, the request goes through Cloudflare's network. Cloudflare keeps a short-lived log of the request — date, IP address, URL — for the purpose of detecting abuse and providing service-level metrics. This logging is server-side; it does not place a cookie or identifier in your browser. Logs are deleted within thirty days.
4. Email pixels in our transactional messages
After you book, we send a confirmation email, a pre-arrival message a week before check-in, and a short note two days after check-out. These emails contain a small invisible image — a pixel — that tells us whether the email was opened and which links you clicked. We use this only to detect delivery problems: if every confirmation we send for a given week goes unread, we know something is broken at the email layer. You can disable image loading in your email client to opt out.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
Every modern browser lets you view, delete and block cookies. Look in your browser's Settings or Preferences for Privacy or Cookies. If you block the essential checkout cookies, the booking flow will not work and you will need to write to us at info@creteholidaymochlos.com to complete your reservation.
6. Changes to this policy
We will update this page whenever we add or remove a service that places cookies or logs requests. The date below tells you when it was last revised.
